Two for two in straw poll victories; earning North Georgia’s conservative support
(RANGER, GA) – State Representative and 9th District Republican candidate for Congress Tom Graves (R-Ranger) was the overwhelming choice of Walker County Republicans in a straw poll conducted last night at the Walker County Republican Party Victory Dinner 2009. Graves received 80 votes or 44 percent of the vote while his closest competitor of the other eight candidates received only 35 votes or 19 percent.
This was the second straw poll held for the 9th District Congressional race and the second time Graves has come out on top.
Graves won the Union County GOP BBQ straw poll in September.
“This is exciting and a testament to the grassroots organization we are building throughout the 9th District,” said Graves. “I appreciate Walker County’s vote of confidence and am grateful for the support my campaign is receiving throughout North Georgia. Our positive message of protecting freedom, preserving life and returning fiscal sanity to Washington resonates well and we’ll continue pushing common sense, conservative solutions for North Georgia.”
