PRESS RELEASE: Graves Addresses Thousands at Midwest Fair Tax Rally

6.15.2009 (ATLANTA) — State Representative Tom Graves (R-Ranger) spoke to a crowd of nearly 5,000 people at the Midwest FairTax Rally in Columbia, Missouri this Saturday, June 13th. Joined by talk show host Neil Boortz, Herman Cain and Georgia Congressman John Linder, Graves spoke about Americans' concerns over reckless government spending, corporate bailouts, and the benefits of the Fair Tax.

"Not since the creation of this great country has there been such a stir among the American people of unrest and dissatisfaction with the way they are being governed and taxed," said Rep. Graves.  "The debate this country is about to go through is one that asks a simple question; are you going to fight for and protect the taxpayer or are you going to fight for and protect the government? I know which one I'd choose. I'm choosing to fight for the taxpayer!"

The all day, bi-partisan event drew political leaders from across the country. Speaker after speaker touted the benefits of the Fair Tax, a comprehensive plan to replace all federal income and payroll based taxes with a national sales tax. Many in attendance saw this rally as the next step after the "Tea Parties" that were held across the country this past April 15th.
