Tom Graves for Congress

PAYNE NAMED GRAVES FOR CONGRESS WHITFIELD COUNTY CHAIR

(RANGER, GA) – Republican State Rep. Tom Graves (R-Ranger), candidate for the 9th Congressional District of Georgia, today named Chuck Payne Chairman of his campaign in Whitfield County.  Payne, a former Chairman of the Whitfield County Republican Party, will work directly with the Graves campaign and oversee the grassroots activities in the county.

“Julie and I are pleased Chuck has joined our campaign and will Chair our efforts in Whitfield County,” said Graves.  “Chuck is a tireless worker and will provide the leadership in Whitfield County to organize and turnout the voters for my campaign.  I am glad to have earned his support and that he has agreed to head up our efforts.”

“I want Tom Graves to be my representative in Congress because of his commitment to principle,” said Payne.  “In a time when Congress is continuously seeking to expand the federal bureaucracies of government, now more than ever we need Tom's conservative voice of reason.”

Graves announced earlier this year he would seek the 9th District Congressional seat, which is currently held by Congressman Nathan Deal who is running for Governor.

Last week, Graves hosted his annual corn roast at Sandy Bottom Farm in Tate, Georgia, where over 250 attended from nearly all 15 counties in the district.  The corn roast was the largest political event for a candidate running for Congress in the 9th District and one of the largest in the district this election cycle.

Yesterday, Graves stood head and shoulders above the other candidates at a forum in Dalton, demonstrating command of the issues facing business owners and outlining a vision of less government and free market solutions.

Graves has raised over $116,000 from more than 237 contributors, recruited over 150 county volunteers and has campaign organizations in all 15 counties.
