Happy Birthday Tea Parties
One year ago today, Georgians met on a cold, rainy morning at the State Capitol for a Tea Party. No one knew who would show up or what to expect. However, that day Georgians and other ordinary Americans made the decision to take our country back. From there, a movement began that has not been seen since those of our colonial days.
The Tea Parties held around Georgia and this country serves as a reminder for those of us who hold office or are seeking a position of public trust, that the American people are our bosses. And, that the U.S. Constitution is to be read, consulted and adhered to.
Looking back on the last year, it's been an amazing journey - a journey that has ignited the American spirit, energized freedom loving Americans to get involved and hold their elected leaders accountable. This group of Americans have said in once voice 'enough is enough, stop spending our country further and further into debt and that the blessings of liberty must be preserved.'
I join them. I listen to them. I am proud to be a part of them. And they can always count on me to fight to preserve this "Great and Glorious Cause called America."
