Tom Graves for Congress

Graves Earns Club for Growth PAC Endorsement

"Tom is an up and coming leader who will stand up for taxpayers and fight to protect our freedoms in Washington."

(RANGER, GA) – State Rep. Tom Graves (R-Ranger), Republican candidate for Congress in Georgia’s 9th District, today announced the Club for Growth PAC endorsed his campaign for Congress saying he is a “proven conservative leader with [a] strong record in support of pro-growth fiscal policies.”

“Tom Graves has been an outspoken advocate for tax relief and budget reform in the Georgia Legislature, and we believe he’ll bring that same enthusiasm to Congress,” said Club President Chris Chocola.  “Tom is an up and coming leader who will stand up for taxpayers and fight to protect our freedoms in Washington.”

“I am honored to earn Club for Growth’s support,” said Graves.  “The principles they and their members espouse are what creates prosperity and opportunities for all Americans.  I believe in empowering people and the free market, not government, and will take those principles to Congress in order to create jobs and get our economy working again.”

Club for Growth is a national network of thousands of Americans, from all walks of life, who believe that prosperity and opportunity come through economic freedom. They work to promote public policies that promote economic growth primarily through legislative involvement, issue advocacy, research, training and educational activity.

In the current election cycle, Club for Growth PAC has endorsed four other candidates for Congress, including Kevin Calvey in Oklahoma’s Fifth District, Pat Toomey for Senate in Pennsylvania, and incumbent U.S. Senators Jim DeMint and Tom Coburn.

Last Saturday, Graves spoke at the Taxpayer March on Washington because of his conservative leadership in the Georgia House of Representatives and for authoring the Jobs, Opportunity and Business Success Act, HB 481 and 482, last session.  The JOBS Act received national attention and was focused on helping small businesses and creating, expanding and attracting jobs through a series of tax credits, cuts, and incentives for businesses to hire Georgians.

"In politics, it's rare to find the consistent and outstanding records we've seen with Tom Graves," Chocola concluded. "As we face the prospect of bigger government, more spending, and higher taxes under President Obama, it is all the more important to support such principled leaders who will be strong fiscal conservatives in Congress."
