9TH DISTRICT SUPPORTS TOM GRAVES AT 4TH ANNUAL CORN ROAST
(TATE, GA) – In a massive display of public support, Freedom Fighters from across North Georgia turned out Saturday in force for Tom Graves’ bid to represent Georgia’s 9th Congressional District in Washington. Over 250 supporters from nearly all 15 counties in the 9th District dined on roasted corn, bar-be-que, cole slaw and sweet tea.
This was the largest political event for a 9th District Congressional candidate this election cycle and one of the largest events in the district.
Graves was joined by Georgia State Senate Majority Leader Chip Rogers, State Sen. Chip Pearson, State Rep. Stephen Allison and State Rep. Martin Scott, who all stumped for his candidacy.
“Washington is falling into the habit of when something isn’t working, the solution is to stimulate it. When it’s failing, bail it. And when it’s bankrupting, buy it,” said Graves. “Our liberty is at stake if we continue to let the President and the democrat-controlled Congress take America down this road.”
Rogers, Pearson, Allison and Scott all pointed out to the crowd that it is critical to elect Graves to Congress. All agreed Graves is a principled leader and will be heard loud and clear when the Democrats in Washington try to expand government and raise taxes to pay for their liberal social programs.
Raymond Butler and Ayad Majeed came from Murray County to show their support for Graves.
“The event was great,” said Butler. “I had a wonderful time with my family and was able to see a man who is the true conservative and has real family values.”
“I was able to speak with a lot of people who are supporting Tom,” said Majeed, an Iraqi translator who lost his arm in an IED explosion in Iraq. “Tom cares about family values and our national security. The political endorsements he received were very impressive.”
This was the fourth corn roast Graves’ campaign hosted and the largest to date. Supporters left energized and the large crowd in attendance is an indicator that Graves has the conservative support throughout the district.
Graves announced earlier this year he would seek the 9th District Congressional seat, which is currently held by Congressman Nathan Deal who is running for Governor.
